This course meets Nevada state requirements to fulfill the licensing provisions for the Advanced Esthetician license, effective January 2022 (Nevada SB291). This course covers Comprehensive Laser topics through theory and didactic education. Course must be completed by October 2023. This course is open to all licensed estheticians.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES

• Assess skin types and determine proper laser indications and contraindications
• Evaluate laser, light and non-light based technologies and determine applications based on client indication.
• Perform safe and effective laser, light based and non-light based procedures included in the practical component of this course.
• Conduct a thorough client consultation for all practical procedures included in this course.

As of January 1st, 2022 the Nevada State Board of Cosmetology is acknowledging a 900 hour, Advanced Esthetics license. In order to perform advanced esthetic treatments such as laser, microneedling and dermaplaning, all current Basic Estheticians have until October 2023 to fulfill the NV licensing provisions. If the provision is not completed by that date a Basic Esthetician cannot perform advanced esthetic treatments. One way to obtain the 900 hour Advanced Esthetic license is to take a state approved continuing education course that includes a minimum of 75 hours on comprehensive laser procedures which can be added to a 600 hour license.

This course provides a thorough education on the complete spectrum of cosmetic lasers and light-based devices. Approximately 50% of the course is dedicated to demonstrations and hands-on learning, using only state of the art cosmetic laser equipment. This course is appropriate for those licenses that are approved within their state to provide these services. Common licenses include ME, RN, PA, APRN, MD, DO. NIMA recommends that you check with your state to determine the licenses necessary within your area of practice. Certificate is administered upon completion of the 75-hour course.
