Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) Training

This activity is designed to meet the educational needs of clinicians (physicians, registered nurses, nurse practitioners, licensed practical nurses, physician assistants, dentists and medical assistants) involved in the care of patients seeking aesthetic enhancement procedures.

This comprehensive one-day hands-on workshop explores the cosmetic applications of platelet-rich plasma. The didactic session covers PRP theory, mechanism of action and the platelet concentration needed for angiogenesis, and addresses the practical questions practitioners ask: are more platelets better, and does the equipment matter? We discuss PRP as a stand-alone treatment, PRP with fat grafting, PRP with fillers, PRP with ablative fractional laser, and complementary modalities used to enhance results such as micro-trauma techniques, microneedling, photo-stimulation, stem-cell attractants, carboxytherapy and mesotherapy.

Treatment protocols focus on face and neck aging and on hair loss, and also cover scars, acne, stretch marks and cellulite. A live demonstration walks through procedure and technique before the afternoon hands-on sessions, where a low student-to-instructor ratio gives you one-on-one time with the instructors. Each attendee receives a course manual, slide files, studies, and business and practice documents.

Continuing education note: this course is not approved for CME Category 1. It is designed with criteria that may be eligible for CME Category II credits, which physicians and PAs self-submit to their state board commensurate with their participation. Aesthetic Education is an educator and does not sell equipment in any course; we do share an unbiased view of the systems on the market and purchasing sources.

PRP Certification for Nurses & Nurse Practitioners

Registered nurses, nurse practitioners and physician assistants make up a large share of every PRP course. The curriculum is the same for every clinician: online didactic modules first, then a hands-on day where you treat live patients in a small group under direct physician supervision, and a certificate of completion with CME credits at the end.

What you can do with the training afterwards depends on your license and your state. In many states RNs perform aesthetic injections under a physician or nurse practitioner's delegation and supervision, while NP and PA scope varies by state and practice agreement. Before you enroll, confirm the rules with your state board of nursing or medicine; our admissions team can also walk you through what other nurses in your state have done.

  • Same hands-on protocol and live-patient practice for RN, NP, PA, MD, DO and DDS attendees
  • Documentation you can show an employer or supervising physician: certificate, CME credits and course syllabus
  • Post-course support from the clinical team for questions that come up in your first cases
